Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

This statement is based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines for journal and proceeding editors.

Ethical Guidelines for the Proceedings

The publication of articles in the Proceedings of the International Conference on Education, Economics, Law, and Technology (ICEELT) plays an important role in the development of a credible and sustainable academic knowledge network. It reflects the quality of the authors’ work as well as the institutions that support them.

Articles that have undergone peer review represent the application of the scientific method, which must be maintained with high standards of integrity. Therefore, it is essential to establish ethical standards for all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, publishers, and readers.

The ICEELT Proceedings publisher is fully committed to ensuring that all stages of publication are conducted professionally and independently. Commercial interests, including advertising, reprints, or any other revenue sources, do not influence editorial decisions.

Publication Decisions

The editors of the ICEELT Proceedings are responsible for deciding which submitted articles are accepted for publication. Decisions are based on scientific validity, academic contribution, and relevance to the scope of the proceedings.

Editors may be guided by the policies of the editorial board and are bound by legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. In making decisions, editors may consult with reviewers or members of the editorial board.

Plagiarism Screening

Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts are free from plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct.

All submitted manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection tools such as Turnitin or similar systems prior to the peer review process.

Editorial Independence

Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic merit, without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, nationality, or political views.

Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts. Information may only be shared with the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, editorial board members, and the publisher as necessary for the publication process.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest (Editors)

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in editors’ own research without the express written consent of the authors.

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists editors in making publication decisions and also helps authors improve the quality of their manuscripts through constructive feedback.

Timeliness
Any invited reviewer who feels unqualified to review a manuscript or is unable to complete the review within the required timeframe should notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.

Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with others without authorization from the editor.

Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly and support them with academic arguments.

Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published works not cited by the authors and report any substantial similarity with other known publications.

Conflict of Interest
Privileged information obtained through peer review must remain confidential and must not be used for personal advantage. Reviewers must decline assignments where conflicts of interest exist due to competitive, collaborative, or institutional relationships.

Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards
Authors must present an accurate and objective account of their research. Data should be reported correctly and in sufficient detail to allow replication of the study.

Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. Any use of other works must be properly cited or quoted.

Multiple or Redundant Publication
Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one publication simultaneously or publish the same research in multiple outlets.

Acknowledgment of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of all referenced works must be provided.

Authorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research. All listed authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
All authors must disclose any financial or substantive conflicts of interest that may influence the interpretation of their work, as well as all sources of research funding.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works
If an author discovers a significant error in a published work, they must promptly notify the editor and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article if necessary.
